Historically, Almagic approached its accessibility by following a logical order from its very first accessibility implementations. It started first with the entrance to the event. However, it quickly realized that parking lots during the event were not always emptied before the event. It therefore began installing its signage according to its process a few days before the event, while realizing that it was sometimes necessary to go upstream of the project or the arrival for accessibility to be most effective.
It achieved its logical order during the setup of events by following its A P E M U E. Many years later, during a meeting with the CAWaB (a collective of French-speaking Belgian associations), it was delighted by the closeness of thought between its ideas and those of this collective, since the latter had created the “SECUE chain”. On the other hand, thanks to them, Almagic understood the importance of splitting the M into 2 parts and corrected its order to become the APEMUE.
Even though there is a logical link between the SECUE and the APEMUE, there were no initial links between the two. The objectives of the structures are somewhat different, particularly in the learning methodology… One will not replace the other. For years, Almagic has been developing complementary projects without overshadowing or competing with other associations, because there is nothing more sterile for the social sector than competitors. Differences of opinion must generate projects based on common denominators (…).
Historiquement, Almagic travaillait son accessibilité en respectant un ordre logique depuis ses premières mises en place de l’accessibilité. Elle commençait d’abord par l’entrée de l’événement. Seulement, elle s’est rendue compte rapidement que les parkings durant l’événement n’étaient pas toujours vidés avant l’événement. Elle commença donc par installer quelques jours avant l’événement sa signalisation selon son process, tout en réalisant qu’il fallait parfois aller en Amont du projet ou de l’Arrivée pour qu’une accessibilité soit la plus efficace.
Elle réalisa son ordre logique durant l’installation d’événements en suivant son A P E M U E. Bien des années plus tard, lors d’une rencontre avec le CAWaB (collectif d’associations belges francophones), elle se réjouit de la proximité de pensée entre ses idées et celles de ce collectif, puisque ce dernier avait créé la “chaîne SECUE”. Par contre, grâce à celui-ci, Almagic comprit l’importance de séparer le M en 2 parties et corrigea son ordre pour qu’il devienne le APEMUE.
Même s’il y a un lien logique entre le SECUE et le APEMUE, il n’y a pas eu de liens initiaux entre les deux. Les objectifs entre les structures sont quelque peu différents, notamment dans la méthodologie d’apprentissage… L’un ne remplacera pas l’autre. Almagic développe depuis des années des projets complémentaires sans faire de l’ombre ou sans concurrencer d’autres associations, car il n’y a rien de plus stérile pour le social que des concurrents. Les différences d’opinion doivent générer des projets sur la base des dénominateurs communs (…).
